When I boarded the plane I got upgraded to Premium Economy. Nice.
However, I could see that Rosinante was not on board. Her AirTag was showing her still in the terminal building. I talked to a stewardess who supposedly asked the captain … but there was nothing that they could do. Luggage is handled by the ground crew. So, off to a bumpy start. Again.
I sat next to Sebastian who lived both in Berlin and Winnipeg and was on his way to meet his wife and young daughter again. He had a very international and colorful family background and we traded stories about our experiences with traveling in Canada, Iceland, Asia and other places. He was a very nice chap and very supportive regarding my project. Time flew by quickly.
When I landed we parted ways and I had to realize that not only was Rosinante still in Frankfurt, my entire luggage was. I was both irritated and amused. How difficult can it be to put luggage onto a plane and not forget it back home?
Obviously, the heavens wanted me to spend some more time in Toronto with my friend Aaron.
Actually, he had been a little disappointed when he learned that I was only planning to spend one night in Toronto this year.
I took a cab to his place and it felt like coming home to a friend. This is now my third time in this great city.
After freshening up we went to his favorite French restaurant and were served by a very nice lady who I remembered from last year.

The food was great and the red wine, too. We caught up for hours until we were the last guests.
To be honest, we were both a little shaky when we Ubered back to his place.
After a short night cap on his rooftop patio I went straight to bed.
Hopefully, my stuff would make it to me tomorrow!

Hello Karsten! Off and gone again !?! I wish you a wonderful trip with much more fun and less challenges than last year. Looking forward to read more about your experiences.
