Today I would get to Winnipeg. I remember that name from my childhood because my dad used to talk about his time there with a sparkle in his eyes.

Day 9: Minnedosa to Westbourne – against the wind
Cycling through the Prairies against headwind is the ultimate form of Stoicism. You can fight it but then you won’t last long. You can’t really hide either. You can only accept it and humbly pedal at a lower speed that is doable in the long run.
Day 8: Binscarth to Minnedosa – something is not right
I was cold and shivering a little bit. Not sure if that was because of too much sun or my stomach or both. Quit frankly, I am surprised that I had the energy so far to cycle the first 500km. On the plus side, I was loosing weight quickly.
Day 7: Yorkton to Binscarth – Welcome to Manitoba
After 107km I reached Russell which supposedly had a campground. I was ready to call it a day. However, the community had sold the property to a grocery store chain and there was no more campground
Day 6: Quill Lake to Yorkton – saying Good Bye and Hello
In my mind I was contemplating to pause or shorten my fundraising tour to be with Carolin in this difficult time. But logistics would be a challenge for sure. There would be another funeral service at the end of the month to put her urn into the ground. Maybe I could attend at least this one?
